The Himba - a north Namibian tribe - rub a mixture of red ochre and fat on their bodies to protect them from the sun and to give their appearance a rich reddish colour. The Himba women are known for their intricate hairstyles and beautiful traditional jewellery made from iron and shells and even their children are adorned with jewellery.
